With 4 races remaining in the National Guard American Superbike season, Josh Hayes has realized one of the keys to his success on the Yamaha R1. His narrow 11 point lead over Tommy Hayden suggests the championship will go down to the wire. In the last 11 years only Nicky Hayden on the RC51 has wrested the AMA Superbike crown away from Yoshimura Suzuki. Ben Spies Mid Season Update

We hadn’t spoken with World Superbike Champion and MotoGP rookie of the year, Ben Spies, for a few weeks and had some catching up to do. He talked Sachsenrig, Laguna, and Brno where he launched his Yamaha M1 from the front row for the first time. We wrapped up with a wee little Indy preview. He rode there last in 2008 aboard the Suzuki GSV-R.
