OnTheThrottle.TV’s third episode in the video series, “The Team” gives viewers a look at the dynamic history of rider Jake Holden and SBK Factory owner James Compton. The duo began working together in the AMA Pro Racing paddock in 2006– garnering success in Superstock, Daytona SportBike, and Superbike classes. When it came time for Compton to find a rider for SBK Factory’s latest project– racing Pikes Peak– Holden was the obvious choice.

Harris Hill Raceway

OnTheThrottle.TV visits Harris Hill Raceway in San Marcos, Texas and checks out all the fun they have riding and driving fast in the Lone Star State—including a nine-year-old boy tearing it up on the rally course.

Harris Hill Raceway is a private membership motorsports track located in the hills of San Marcos, Texas. It’s location draws both car and motorcycle enthusiasts from Austin, San Antonio, and the surrounding areas. The track is a 1.82-mile, 11-turn asphalt road course with over 150 feet of elevation changes and a challenging mix of on and off-camber turns.

Rod Metz, Co-Manager of Harris Hill Raceway, explains how members use the track, “some people like to drive and see how good they can get, how fast they can get, or develop their skills.” He continues, “and some just have fun; some just go out for the joy of driving fast.”
In addition to the road course, a rally course, TT mini bike course, and dirt bike trails are also onsite. A well-equipped clubhouse provides additional amenities, including a game room, commercial kitchen, instructional classroom, and garages.

Craig Gleason, Motorcycle Program Manager, describes Harris Hill Raceway as “just a big playground for gear heads.” Gleason says that members come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common. “We’re just here to have fun,” he explains, “it’s all about fun here.”

Two time World Superbike champion and MotoGP Star Colin Edwards is joined by guest instructor and AMA Pro Flat Tracker Doug Lawrence and AMA Pro Flat Track racer and TTBC instructor Merle Scherb at the Texas Tornado Boot Camp in Conroe, TX. The crew put on a 450 flat track demo, and OnTheThrottle.TV was there to create this super-short we call The Good, The Fast and the Dougie. “The Test” Taking Performance to New Heights Episode 2

This episode, “The Test,” highlights Holden’s first ride on the custom built Kawasaki ZRX1224RR Superbike. The team heads to the track to test what SBK Factory’s James Compton developed, and see how both bike and rider perform. The video follows Holden as he gets comfortable with the bike and puts it through its paces, unofficially breaking the track record for fastest lap.

The first episode is all about the motorcycle— a custom built Kawasaki ZRX1224RR Superbike. The video gives viewers an inside look at the bike’s development, which combines high performance aftermarket parts with SBK Factory’s own in-house superbike engineering. SBK Factory owner and bike builder James Compton explains what went into putting together this “modern classic” superbike for rider Jake Holden to race up America’s mountain this June.

MotoGP rookie Blake Young and MotoGP and World Superbike Announcer Jonathan Green talk about what it takes to get a fast lap around the Circuit of the Americas on the Attack Performance CRT.

Blake will kick off his MotoGP career at The Red Bull Grand Prix of the America’s on April 19 – 21st.

Jonathan Green will split play-by-play duties at the three U.S. rounds which will be broadcast live on SPEED until August, when coverage will move to the new FOX Sports 1.

OnTheThrottle.TV is thrilled to announce a new web series, “Taking Performance to New Heights,” featuring Jake Holden and SBK Factory and their quest to win the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The series will take you behind-the-scenes with Holden and his team as they prepare for the legendary race up America’s mountain—a 12.42-mile ride that climbs over 5,000 feet with 156 turns. The first episode will be all about the bike itself, giving viewers an inside look at the Kawasaki ZRX1224RR Superbike, a high performance, stylized reproduction of the Eddie Lawson replica. Following episodes will be all about the rider, the race, the test, and more.

GEICO Motorcycle Road Racing Team Rider Dane Westby Sidelined at Daytona Opener

The GEICO Motorcycle Road Racing team offers a glimpse behind the scenes at their pre-season test at Jennings GP and at the 2013 GEICO Motorcycle Road Racing season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway. Rider Dane Westby was injured and sidelined when 2007 Daytona 200 winner and race vet Steve Rapp was chosen to takes Dane’s place. Dane is expected to make a full recovery for Round 2 when the 2013 GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing Series heads to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

James “The Rocket” Rispoli had an impressive debut in the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike class on his #43 Michael Jordan Motorsports/National Guard/Celtic Racing GSX-R600 running with the lead pack in the Daytona 200 before his second pitstop took him out of podium contention.
