A wet race foiled what was to be the best weekend yet for Factory Aprilia Millennium Technologies and their RSV1000. Nearly half the grid went down in the sloppy conditions of Daytona Sportbike Race one. The track was suited to the KWS prepared bikes because they may be the fastest top speed bikes in the series, and few tracks allow the bikes to stretch their legs like Road America. The team regrouped after Saturday's race to finish 8th and 20th, leaving the track happily with bikes and riders intact.
